The Plaster & Plywood Kitchen
Plaster walls, exposed birch plywood, and textured cork flooring – this Montpelier style kitchen is a minimalist’s dream.
In this week’s journal, we’re diving a little deeper. We’re giving you an insight into how this eclectic kitchen came to life. Throughout, we’ll breakdown:
The client’s vision and brief
The Montpelier style
And the kitchen’s special features
Let’s dive in.

The Brief
Our Bristol based client pictured a kitchen that feels unique and personal, the moment you step into it. Complimenting their pink plastered walls and textured cork flooring, this kitchen needed to feel like a contemporary space, grounded by natural tones.
This meant keeping the design pared back, using a neutral colour palette, crafting smooth lines and sleek cabinetry.
Naturally, our designers took this brief like a duck to water, visualising everything the client dreamt of.
See the vision in 3D below.

The Montpelier Style
Early on, our client told us they were featuring window reveals as part of their kitchen design. So, when it came to picking the style for the cabinetry, the Montpelier was a no-brainer. With exposed plywood at the heart of this kitchen style, it was just the perfect match. Its fuss-free cut out handle, sharp lines and buttery finish oozes personality. Simple yet stylish.

The Colour Palette
The soft Nordic tones of exposed birch plywood, the earthy elegance of FENIX Moss, and the flourishes of Flamingo Arpa balance a natural look with a modern feel.
This palette is a considered blend of relaxed living and eclectic style.

Shadow Gap Worktop
Inspired by modern architecture, distinctly designed: the shadow gap Caesarstone Cloudburst Concrete worktop floats effortlessly above the Montpelier style cabinetry. Pure class.

The Bespoke Kitchen Diner Bench
Breakfast, lunch and dinner is served. A bespoke exposed plywood bench conveniently combines functionality with practicality. This bench is perfect for kicking back with family at dinner time and tidying up after – plus hiding Tinker the Irish Terrier’s* treats.
*FYI: our bespoke benches don’t come with cute dogs. But we wish they did...

The Standalone Larder
Storage. Storage. Storage. You just can’t get enough, right? This standalone larder, neatly tucked between the kitchen and dining area is the perfect hiding spot for herbs, spices, pasta, rice, wine, coffee, salt, pepper, and more spices. Every essential, all in one place. That’ll do nicely.

And finally, the Tech…
This kitchen just gets better and better (if you ask us). The Plaster and Plywood is fitted with a:
Quooker Fusion Tap (chilled, sparkling, and boiling hot water functions)
Neff Combi Oven, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher
Top of the range. Sustainably stylish. Made to last.
