Cosy Cotham Kitchen

Date

Cosy Cotham Shaker kitchen

A traditional hand-painted Shaker kitchen with all the crisp modern and robust features necessary for modern family living right in the heart of Bristol.

The Design Brief

Tim and Carla wanted to create a clean, practical and contemporary kitchen, somewhere which provided a haven for their children and a social hub in which to entertain and relax. Traditional Shaker cabinetry with a modern twist.

The Build

The angled wall cabinet proved to be the most challenging part of the build requiring precise angles in the frame, carcass and cornice to achieve a seamless finish. We also built the range surround, designed to look like an existing part of the house, and the radiator seat with clever storage to maximise the usable space in the kitchen.

Materials

All the carcasses are built from FSC Birch plywood and the doors and frames are from FSC American white Oak, the paint colour is Farrow and Ball Charleston Grey for the centre island and Skimming Stone for the perimeter units.
