Our kitchens are made primarily from wood. The carcasses are made of birch plywood and the doors and frames are made from either birch plywood or MDF, depending on your door style and finish.

Honest is our standardised range of overlay cabinets built in standard sizing. We have stripped-back the service putting you in the driving seat, reducing cost but maintaining quality.

Our Honest kitchens start from £25,000 to include worktops and appliances for smaller spaces, with an average price of around £35,000.

Yes. During the design process we’ll discuss your appliance needs, you can stipulate your exact specifications or we can suggest ideas based on your design and kitchen. When you work with us, we’ll give you exclusive access to better pricing on appliances (as well as suggest the perfect appliances for your needs – appliance integration really is key to a well-designed kitchen).

Like our Honest kitchen cabinets, we will deliver your new appliances to your home where your builder or tradesperson can fit and install them.

Our Honest kitchens are designed for simple installation. We will deliver your kitchen in reusable packing blankets and provide a detailed fitting guide for your installers to work from.

When ordering from our Honest range, you can still expect the absolute best in terms of service, craftsmanship and product as our Truly Bespoke kitchens.

Right from the very beginning of your journey, we deliver the highest quality, and we strongly believe that quality is deeper than the façade.

Medite is a type of MDF wood and is used as the centre panelling in our Clifton and painted Redland doors. Medite is recognised for its durability and quality compared to traditional MDF. Unlike MDF, Medite contains little to low levels of a chemical compound called formaldehyde which can contribute to poor indoor air quality.

Medite is made from 100% recycled materials and is FSC-approved making it a sustainable choice.

Yes, our Cotham doors are made with birch plywood.

Our plywood kitchens are made from sustainably sourced plywood and showcase the end grains as a frame around the door.

Our Honest Kitchens come with a 5-year guarantee when we deliver your cabinets.

Clients will need to register their appliances for warranties.

Yes – some tall cabinets will require fixed shelves though.

Our underpanels are separate so they can be applied and scribed after hanging the cabinet. They are supplied oversized to be scribed to the wall.

Yes, we will supply your doors primed for you to paint in any colour you wish.

Cotham: 19mm

We offer other cabinetry such as alcove storage, wardrobes, home offices, boot rooms…If you have a project in mind, get in touch and we we’d be happy to put together a design and solution for your storage needs.

Our Honest Kitchens range is made up of the following styles:

  • Clifton – A shaker-inspired kitchen with a modern touch.
  • Redland – An understated luxury door with clean lines and a subtle framed detail.
  • Cotham – A contemporary flat door with a range of materials and finishes for a customisable and playful design.

You can also choose from a range of worktops and handles to make your kitchen your own.

No, they are supplied as Oak or Plywood but you can paint yourself 

Our Cotham door is available with a J Scoop to achieve a handleless look. We do not offer touch to open but you can add this function yourself after delivery. 

We welcome projects located across the country. Our Honest Kitchens can be delivered throughout the UK

A typical project takes around 4-6 weeks from the point that we begin building your kitchen to delivering your kitchen. The design process prior to this depends on your specifications and any revisions required.

Please be aware that in busy periods, our lead times can reach up to 6 months, so please do get in touch early on in the process.

The Sustainable Kitchens workshop is in Kingswood, North East Bristol.

We don’t however offer finance options

We have been trading as Honest Living and then as Sustainable Kitchens since 2008; Honest Living became a limited company in 2010. (Please note that the company name since incorporation to July 2018 was It Woodwork and has since changed to Honest Living). Learn more in our About section.

We only use timber and sheet materials which are deemed to be ethical and which carry certification from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) or the Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) who promote sustainably managed forests worldwide. We do not use any tropical hardwoods.Through our partnership with the Avon Needs Trees we are helping to replant the UK’s native woodland and prevent any further loss of this ancient resource. The Sustainable Kitchens tree dedication scheme ensures the planting and maintaining of trees with every kitchen we make.
